The best way to manage a dumpster rental is in first ensuring that you’ve chosen the right dumpster rental company to partner with. From there, you want to identify and prepare the location on which the dumpster is expected to sit. Consider where you want to put your rental carefully. The wrong position can be a huge inconvenience to you or even your neighbors. Ensure the driver can easily access the location and ensure you don’t need to get any special permits to host it, such as if you intend to have it on the street.

Additionally, be sure you know how much to fill your dumpster and that you're ready for your dumpster to be picked up when scheduled!! An overfull dumpster, generally more than 75% full, or a dumpster not ready to be picked up as scheduled will result in a wasted trip fee of $150! If the dumpster will be placed on the street, a permit is required in almost every town in New Jersey, and the permit must be procured by the homeowner.

General household and construction debris is fine, including furniture, appliances without freon, roofing shingles, wood, and similar items.

Do not put the following in the dumpster:

• Medical waste
• Tires
• Large quantities of concrete, brick or block, unless your rental is specifically for concrete
• Dirt or soil of any kind
• Sand
• Fluorescent bulbs
• Asbestos-containing items
• Flammables
• Paint, unless it is latex and fully dried
• Chemicals
• Anything containing freon, such as air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers
• Explosives, propane tanks and aerosol cans
• Dead animals
• Natural stone
• Radioactive material
• Oil filters

Do not fill above the fill line.

We serve all of New Jersey - 100% of the state - with dumpster rentals in 10, 15, 20, and 30 cubic yard sizes. Sizes vary by county; some counties offer 10, 20, and 30 only.

Make sure the placement spot is clear of vehicles and obstacles and that the truck can reach it. If the dumpster door will be opened for loading, allow almost 8 extra feet beyond the container length.

Roll-off containers are heavy and not padded underneath, so if you want to protect your driveway, place 4x8 plywood sheets — or four 3-foot 2x6 planks — down before delivery. We don't supply the boards.
